![]() ![]() It listed 1 license of Solidworks, our company's AD domain name (not the machine's) and 2 MAC addresses, which we assumed to be Ethernet+Wifi. They replied back with the same threat but included a screenshot with a table that listed the number of licenses detected, the MAC address, the machine's domain name, and the unlicensed product name. ![]() We replied to the software powerhouse saying that after an internal audit we found no trace of said software, licensed or unlicensed, we pushed back some more and asked for specifics. We audited our systems and made sure said software was not installed in any of our machines, which it wasn't but we had a hunch of why we might have received such email - although we didn't disclose this until we could know more. In their email they tell us to buy a license or lawyer up. ![]() The company I work for received an email from a software powerhouse accusing it of pirating its software.
